Brazilian escapade

May 11th, 2008 by snowcharmed

Around 2am

Havin’ fun with my friends
Gettin’ our grooves on
Flowin’ on the beat
He and his buddy
Started to flaunt what they got
He got the moves
T’was off the hook
‘Til we became one
Hittin’ the dancefloor
Like no one else around
Took time to chill
Got to the vip lounge
Exchanged some chats
An accent for an accent
‘Til he caressed me
So was I to him
Emotions started to burst
Seemed like a cycle
T’was a blast moment
A software engineer
Whom will I never see again
As he went back to Brazil
Lucas…

Get Me Outta Here!

December 23rd, 2006 by snowcharmed

Dang, I’m hittin’ two stones at once….don’t wanna be a corporate slave anymore, ugh!

ps. I could make someone laugh w/ no intentions at all. Do ya’ think I’ll just switch to stand-up comedy?…Or maybe I’ll just join Proj. Runway, if given a chance from Heidi Klum. Just need some "connections", anyone?! ;)

VISA {VISA takes me…It’s my life!}

July 11th, 2006 by snowcharmed

Visa 11th of July 2006 (tues.), we had a long hrs of training from 9am until 12 noon. My eyes were almost falling during the training as I haven’t got enough sleep last night. Then, we went ahead to Ristorante Capellini in San Mateo for lunch. On our way there,  me & my 2 colleagues (caucasian & asian gals) almost didn’t make it since we haven’t been in that resto. The moment we got there, it was already 1pm. Dang! Our other colleagues were laughing out loud when we came as we were obviously looked lost. Anyway, it was an awesome company lunch. The food is great and we had a long chitchat which lasted until 230pm. But it was fine ‘coz our manager and supervisor were also there. It’s really so cool having a young & preppy manager. We talked ’bout her upcoming wedding, watchin’ live sports game, etc. The rest of the gang are so fun to be with too. For 3 yrs that I’ve been working…I can finally say, that I’m really enjoyin’ my work (yeeha!). Darn! I forgot to bring my cam. Next time, I surely will!  ;-)

What the heck??! =D

June 13th, 2006 by snowcharmed

It was tuesday night. While I was netsurfing, I’ve heard a loud noise from the outside {my pc is just beside the window of my room so I can totally see through it the view of the guest’s parking lot in the townhouse}. So I looked out and I’ve seen that my neighbor (young caucasian lady with a kiddo) was parked in the guest’s area and she accidentally turned the car alarm. Couldn’t resist not to watch her ’cause the alarm went on and on…for like 15 mins {she and her kid were already in the car}. Obviously, she couldn’t turn it off. It stopped after few mins. but when she opened the door, it alarmed again so freakin’ loud. I heard that she cursed. So here’s the funny part, she drove while her car was still alarming. I was like " Omg! What was she thinkin’!….Haha!" That was so freakin’ crazy but funny casualty. *lol*

One Fine Day…

December 10th, 2005 by snowcharmed

Exel_dhl_1 It was thursday morning (12/8/05) when I was browsing my e-mails in the office, I saw someone who just passedby with my fellow colleague in front of my superv’s desk (my superv’s workpad is just in front of mine). He’s really tall (6 ft. or probably even taller than that) and resembles the looks of a spanish american but he’s probably a London native (he’s obviously a fly guy, I must say). But the thing was…he seemed so reserved. When he passedby, seemed like he was only looking in one direction (imagine in a horse racing where the horses have to wear cover on both sides of their eyes to focus in 1 direction..*lol*). At the end of that day, I was hopeless that I would even know his name or anything about him (if he’s newly hired or an outsource, from what dept. is he working,etcetera..etcetera). Then at home when I fell asleep, I even dreamed of my work (geez!). I was discussing to a certain guy regarding the spreadsheet (never thought this would relate to the next day I got into the office).

Finally,my most awaited day (’coz it’s weekend the next day)…it was Friday (12/09/05). Then my superv. came who was on a medical leave . Actually, she just dropped by to check her e-mails since it has been more than a month that she wasn’t available in the office. Before she left, she reminded me that the auditor might ask for the supporting docs since the 2004 orig. journal which my superv made was missing. So as usual, since she’s gone I had no choice but to do her tasks (so there i was..to the rescue!damn!) Not quite sure, but I just had a gut feel that the guy I saw yesterday was the auditor that my superv was talking to. After taking a lunch break, I wasn’t expecting so soon that the auditor would come in my desk. Just the time that I have sat in my workpad for a couple of mins, I turned back then an unexpected moment happened…

My instinct was right. There he was coming into my workpad. He shook my hand and then he introduce himself. Colton is his name (the only one who captured my attention after 8 months working in Exel…whoa!). I even forgot to introduce myself so he asked me. Then I told him I’ll pull out the docs so he can verify the charges in the journal. He left and told me he would just swing by when I get the docs. Since the journal is so long and it’s Dec ‘04(1 yr old consisting of 4 pages amounting to 6M dollars), it took me a while to research for the files. I wasn’t done yet when he came back. So he left and would be back again as soon as I’m done. Just right after that, my collegue chat with me. Then I said "Omg!Can you believe that?! I have to pull out the Dec’04 docs…geez!" All of my colleagues near my workpad laughed so loud ‘coz of my exhausted reaction. Unknowingly, Colton was in my manager’s room which is just near my workpad. So for sure he heard what I’ve just said. I think it was just half a min. later when he came back asking for back up emails. So I gave it to him pretending I haven’t said anything. In my mind, I was like "Oh my God!". Then while I was heading to the copy room to make some copies of the docs which I pulled out, I bumped into him and then he said no need for the copies ‘coz he just wanted to verify it. So just when we get back into my desk while we were looking over through the docs, seemed like our faces were just 1-2 inches away. I can even smell the candy that he was just chewing (OMG!). I even stuttered while talking to him (geez!). After he was done verifying it, he just said "Good job!"  Then I didn’t know if he was supposed to shake my hand so suddenly, I just looked into his hand (darn! silly me). And then, he was still talking to me while he was walking away but I didn’t have the guts to look back ‘coz I was so overwhelmed of the situation. Few mins. later when I was heading somewhere and he was passing by, he grinned at me so I smiled back (suddenly I remembered his looks the day before when he seemed so serious but that day he seemed so diff.). As the long tedious day was ending, I still can’t believe of that overwhelming situation. Quite sad ‘coz I think he’s just an outsource so I’ll never see him again in the office (damn!). =D

So-called B.U.D.Z.

August 21st, 2005 by snowcharmed

Group1_2 Batch_04_1 This goes with the line…"Everywhere B.U.D.Z. goes, expect the chaos and freakin’ noise" (*lol*). So, where should I start?…B.U.D.Z. comes from the former name of the cafeteria where we usually chill out back in college. It consists of me, jellai, oli(aka Gils), jhari, ombie, tina, johnna, mheng (aka Megaphone), candy (aka Skels), bry (aka Dyosa), res (aka "!"), quel, consy, kako, nat, fol. (Did I forget someone?…hope none => ). Back in college I used to live away from home so apparently, I regard my so-called berks as my second family. Eversince then, they were the ones who showed me how to live life to the fullest!…out of towns, beaches, bar hoppin’, foodtrippin’, music trippin’, videoshoots, pictorials, etcetera.. etcetera… I really miss all of ‘em and I’ll always treasure the 4 yrs I’ve spent with them. (sounds mushy, huh!…*lol*).

The Surreal “EXEL”

August 21st, 2005 by snowcharmed

Logo_exel_1 EXEL…the co. I’m currently working at. Why surreal??…’coz of all the cos. I’ve been through, this is the bizarre exp. I’ve ever had. Talking about the job, Whoa! one word…tedious! But in terms of my colleagues there, it’s a diff. topic (as in sooo odd, literally!) Hmmm…where will I start?! Let me enumerate them first. Btw, I have all the guts to expose ‘em all ‘coz I’m absolutely sure they won’t read this (*lol*). The boss—John (Uhmm…can’t say much ’bout him…haha!), my superv. Ana (heard lots of rumors ’bout her..this space is not enough to tell all of it. She’s nice and loves to laugh but there somethin’ in her which is unexplainable..somethin’ bitchy..*lol*), Arvinder (my nice colleague who becomes "brutally honest" sometimes ‘coz of slip of the tongue…heehee), Tai (who’s so health conscious, that she even works out in bet. ofc. hrs. Now, she’s working in SFO but still in Exel.), German (He’s also a superv. like Ana but you won’t really feel that he is. He’ s so cool and wacky!), Mikee (The good ‘ol guy who doesn’t act in his age. He’s one of the craziest person I’ve known. Usually in the midst of bein’ busy, he will just spontaneously spill out silly jokes, sing out loud even he’s out of tune, dance exaggerately even he’s out of beat & he’s usually the joke of the day..there’s no passing day w/o making fun of him but since he’s not that sensitive, it’s fine with him..and I think he loves it..haha!). Diane (She works in other dept. but usually I get to chat w/ her. Just by looking at her, you can tell that she’s sooo girly. But once you have a conversation w/ her, it turns out to be the opposite thing. She likes to do guy’s stuff..even wielding. But nah!..she’s not "lesbian"..*lol*) Hmmm…who else?! Oh, Kieu! (Yeah right, he’s really smart..knows a lot of stuff even in prog’g. But the thing is, he’s the "most annoying and silliest" person I’ve ever met. I wonder how he finds pleasure in bugging people. I think he has "ADD"…*lol*. I remember there was a time that he got into my nerves so I yelled at him to shut up. But whew!, apparently he bugs me even more. And now, he’s making prank calls in my ofc phone..he doesn’t know that I know it’s him..but one of these days, I’ll caught him in the act & then, I’ll give him some kick in the ass!..not literally, but somethin’ just like that…*lol*). To sum up, working in Exel is tedious but really fun and hilarious. That’s all I can say for now. =)

Aom_reunion_1 At_the_cottage Honestly, I didn’t enjoy my hs as much as college. But I also had fun w/ my hs classmates. Been w/ ‘em for 4 fast-paced yrs. Can’t forget everytime we have practices and plays esp. our reunion 4 yrs after grad…that was awesome!
